A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the 2012 One Great Hour of Sharing offering. The offering goes to help people all over the world facing hunger and recovering from disasters. This year we received $696!

Meals on Wheels now in Amherst County

Blue Ledge Meals on Wheels delivers hot meals to residents of Amherst and Nelson County who are unable to shop for and prepare their own meals. Clients pay as they are able, and Blue Ledge relies on private donations to cover their costs. Both client and volunteer applications are available on the Blue Ledge website.

The Rev. Kim Steinhorst is serving as our interim pastor as we plan for hiring a new permanent pastor. Please make him welcome when you see him in church. We are pleased to have his guidance and energy during the transition.

Sanctuary renovations

This spring, our sanctuary was painted and thoroughly cleaned, the plaster was repaired, and new carpet was installed. The results are amazing! Come see our bright, clean worship space.

Gleaning America's Fields..............................Feeding America's Hungry

Invites you to glean with us

Gleaning is..."hands-on" love in action, a way to feed the hungry, a worth-while activity, for all ages and groups, and lots of fun!

Gleanings are scheduled June through November in many parts of Virginia. Gleaning in the Tidewater area is often available year-round.
Most gleanings are held on Saturday mornings. Week day gleanings may also be available for groups. We do not glean on Sunday.
Gleanings are coordinated and supervised by staff of the Society of St. Andrew
Your group may deliver the gleaned produce to agencies or the Society of St. Andrew's Gleaning Network will arrange delievery
All age groups are invited to glean.

In 2009, 1,579,949 pounds of fresh produce were gleaned, salvaged and distributed by you, your group and others in Virginia. Gleaning fresh fruits and vegetables is a shared experience with putting food on the table of those who are truly hungry in our communities.
